Phil's Manic Challenge!

Hi all,

Has anyone had luck with completing Jiminy's journal request of getting 1000 orbs in Phil's manic challenge? We have been able to get up to about 823, but that is the closest. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Scott finally settles on a topic

This blog was a little haphazard to begin with and I have decided to dedicate this blog to my interests in the Sci-Fi andf Fantasy realm. If anyone has any suggestions as to what books to read, games to play or movies to see, I am always ready to listen.

Thanks,
Scotty

The Mets are off to a fantastic start!!

So they did it once. Let's go for 2 more! The Mets beat the Braves and now have a 5 game lead in the division. No team has ever taken a 5 game lead this early in the season.

Is it that the rest of the division sucks? (the are all under .500)
Is it that the Mets are playing phenomonally? (They have the best record in the Majors)

Probably a combination of the two choices. They did well against the Brewers. They did beat the Braves on Day 1 of 3 last night.

Anyone think that the Mets will sweep the series? I would just love it! I am not sure when the Mets have swept the Braves last in a series. Does anyone know?

Well, here's hoping for number 2 tonight!

Sephiroth has been defeated!!

Of course, he is not destroyed, but I did defeat him in battle in Kingdom Hearts 2. It took about 12 tries but I did it.

Here is what I did:
First, I was at about level 80.
Second, I set myself up with High-potions and Elixirs. I had 4 Elixirs and I used them all.
Definitely recommend using Elixir and High-Potion shortcuts.
Generally, he does not do a lot of damage to you.
When he generates the wall of flame, use glide to keep away from him.
If he starts hitting you in the air, use circle button to pop out of it.
Use High-potions when your hit points get low.
When he floats in the air from a distance, he is likely going to cast a spell which will zap your magic and all but 1 hitpoint. You can try to get to him quickly, which I never could. Or, what i did, was the following:
As soon as he cast teeh spell, use your shortcut to use an Elixir. This will prevent you from dying on his next attack which comes quickly.
Make usre to use your Trinity Limit as soon as you can and as often as your magic allows. When Limit is not available, just keep whacking away at him. His HP drops fairly quickly when in Limit Mode.

Good luck and don't give up. It can be done.

Take care,
Scotty

PS If anyone has defeated Sephiroth in KH1 I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. I can barely take a breath in that battle!

New Records for the Mets

The Mets are continuing on! They have the best start that they have ever had and it is the first time they started the season with 4 consecutive series wins!

Now for the series that everyone is interested in, the Atlanta Braves.

It starts off tonight with Pedro on the mound looking to etch number 200 in the books. Meanwhile, the Braves are looking to get back to .500. It should be an interesting series indeed!

7-1 What a great start!

The Mets have won yet again! That is great. This one was a blow out 13 to 4 over the Nationals.

The Mets had 3 home runs in the first inning (Beltran, Wright with Delgado on 1st, and Floyd).

Great job guys. Let's keep this going.

They haven't had a start this good since 1985 (8-1). Also, they haven't been 3 games over the 2nd place team in the division since 1988!

Kingdom Hearts 2 update

Hi All,

I'll stay away from any spoilers.

So, we are nearing the end of the game, but we still have a few things to do. Don't get me wrong, this is not a short game, but rather a game that has been played extensibly. And we are not finished yet.

The game is great and plays really well once you get used to the differences in gameplay. For the most part, the gameplay is the same. There are additional nuances in this game. It is easier to perform some special attacks using the triangle button instead of having to navigate the command box. Also, you can customize the use of you items as well as magic spells.

Any comments from other games? I would love to hear about your ideas and comments about the game. Positive or negative, I would like to know.

Also, hints and suggestions are always welcome. I have found that the book is lacking in some aspects. Here is one hint I learned recently:

When trying to gain points in the Underdrome, try using Stitch or other low level summon to attack the creatures in the arena. You are more likely to hurt rather than kill the enemies. This, in turn, provides more points than just killing them outright.

If you need help, I will le you know what I know as well.

Good luck!
Scott

The Mets won again!

Wagner had a shaky ninth inning, but since we were winning 7-1 it wasn't so stressful.

The Mets are now 5-1 and 2 up on the braves. Not a bad start to the season.

Jose got another triple today (with 2 men on), but no stolen bases.

Brian Bannister, the winning pitcher, won his first Major League game! He also had a double on 2 hits. Not bad.

Beltran got himself a 2-run homer and extended the Mets lead in the 9th. He is looking much better this year.

Wright got his obligatory RBI on his lone hit, a double. His avg dropped to .435. Nady went hitless today, though, and his era is now .391.

Happy Birthday Paul LoDuca. As a present he gave us 3 hits in 5 at-bats, including a double and an RBI.

Bannister gave us 7 innings, I think that is the longest this year by a Met starter. He held them to 3 hits and 1 run (HR by Soriano) during that time and brought his ERA down to 2.77.

Let's keep this going!!! 4 in a row. We haven't seen that much in the past few years.

Let's Go Mets!!!!
Scott

PS One last note: Nobody got hit today. Let's see what happens tomorrow with Pedro...

Mets in Washington

The Mets are headed to Washington today. I am looking forward to a good series. Hopefully the "bugs" have been worked out and we won't have to worry about too many hit batsmen.

5-4 Mets today. That's my vision with Bannister getting the win and Wagner getting the save.

Doesn't that sound nice? :-D

The First Place Mets!!!

Sorry for the delay.

Just wanted to say congratulations to the 4-1 First Place New York Mets. I got to watch most of the games and they are looking good. Jose Reyes is looking a little soft still, but David Wright is certainly tearing it up. Only 157 more to go. I would love to see them win 80% of those games!
